Kinako latte, a beloved Japanese drink, is simply made up of three ingredients: Milk. Sugar. Kinako Powder.
What’s the kinako powder, you ask? Soybean flour. Kinako powder is made by roasting soybeans and then grinding them into a powder. You should be able to find kinako powder at your nearest Japanese/Asian grocer. Look out for a bag of “roasted soy flour”.
- 1 cup of soymilk
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp allspice (optional)
- dash of cinnamon (optional)
- 1 tsp kinako powder
On medium heat, warm up your soymilk. Now add your sugar and stir until dissolved. Add your kinako powder and optional allspice. Let it simmer, then remove from stove. Pour the hot mix into a blender and blend ’til you reach frothy perfection.
Pour the mix into your favorite mug and add a dash of cinnamon. Enjoy!
